Weekly Update No 11

Welcome back to Weekly update No 11! This week has seen a big change in the weather and it actually feels like Autumn is well and truly on its way. The nights are drawing in too as its dark at 8 pm:-(

It has been another busy work one, so not a huge amount to update you on so this week will be a short one so let’s get into it.

Monday

Last week I was off on holiday for the last day of the summer holidays. Well, at least I thought it was, turns out Tuesday was an Inset day too!! Actually Ewan wasn’t back until Wednesday!! I took Friday & Monday off so we could do something; but in a typical teenager way, he wasn’t interested so he didn’t even come out with us! Oh well – I tried!!

Anyway, Eddie, Chloe, me and Luna headed into Leicestershire to Bradgate Park. It is beautiful, there’s a tea room in the car park as you go in, and another at the Visitor Centre. Its dog-friendly as long as you follow the rules. There are Deer literally running across the main paths so dogs have to be on a lead in certain areas. Not that hard really!

The main path is buggy and bike-friendly and there was a lot of mums with buggies and joggers when we visited. There are other paths taking you off across fields and up rockier hills. Little ones seemed to like paddling/fishing in the little stream that runs through the park.

We sat outside the cafe with Luna and enjoyed a jacket potato. It’s very reasonably priced at around £5ish for a Jacket Spud. Then treated ourselves to coffee and cake back at the tearooms after our big walk – we did nearly 14k steps (poor little Luna!!, but she loved it!!)

Crafty things

Well as I mentioned in a previous post, I am trying my best to be sustainable. I have seen a few people doing “Sustainable September” which is a great initiative. As it’s now (what I class) as crochet and knitting weather, I decided to make some crochet “face scrubbies”. These are to replace the cotton pads with reusable washable alternatives.

I think I will have a go at making a couple of different types and may do a post on the ones I liked the best. For now, here is a pic of my first attempt.

I am not an expert at crochet and this is the first thing I have done in ages, so I will get better and quicker (I hope!).

Bullet Journal

I did set up my bullet journal, and really need it at the moment with how mad life is. Here is a sneak peek of my set up. I am not very artistic, and my calligraphy leaves a lot to be desired, but it’s my journal, so it doesn’t really matter 🙂

Reading and Watching

I am still reading the book I was last week, it’s ok but it’s not making me rush to read it if you know what I mean. But I will let you know my thoughts when I finish it.

This week I have been watching lots of Youtube. Mostly gaming playthroughs of a game called Man of Medan; but also lots of body positive midsize vloggers – nice to see the clothing try on’s as it may actually look similar to me!

That’s it for this weeks weekly update No 11 – work is hopefully calming down for a couple of weeks and I have some more posts already written. So hopefully I will be back to posting on a more regular schedule 🙂
