Early Start to the weekend
Last weekend was a busy one. On Saturday, we had to be up at 6am, to take Tom and his friends off for a Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition to Ilam in Derbyshire. They all headed off with all of their gear, into soggy Derbyshire!
Next we popped into Nottingham, we had a present to buy for my God Daughters confirmation and I needed an outfit. I also wanted to look for a shirt for Ewan.
Turned out to be a productive shop. Eddie got measured for a suit at Debenhams, for a wedding that he is best man at in a couple of months. We also managed to get a smart pair of trousers for Eddie and Ewan. For the pressie we opted on a Nominations bracelet and a charm with a cross on the same one can be found * here
Mini Weekend Haul
Here are some of the other purchases we made……I won’t include the corn plasters and deodorant as that’s the in-glam side of life!
Chloe and I both selected one of the * tissue masks
We also picked some false nails. The blue ones that are advertised as “3 minute makeover” ones were for Chloe try out. They are self adhesive so there is no need for a bottle of glue.
My false nails are the “mirror effect” ones by Elegant touch. I have wanted a set of these for a long time, as I have seen similar on Pinterest. It seemed like a good a time as any to try them, as my nails are in such bad condition.
After shopping in Nottingham, Chloe and I went to join girls at Bistro Pierre We both took advantage of the 3 course set menu for £13.95. I had the Baked Brie to start followed by Beef bourguignon, with the Brioche Bread and Butter pudding for desert. As always the meal was fantastic!!! Bistro Pierre is one of my favourite places to eat. The menu is reasonable price. Its always busy, but still has a good atmosphere. The food is lovely, I have never had a bad meal (and no I am not getting paid for saying this – its not an AD!!)
For once I was sensible – not like me….I know!!! – I had prosecco with my meal, but then as the girls went back to Ilkeston for drinks Chloe and I went home. We had an early start and I still had to check if Ewan’s outfit fitted.
Eddie had the shirt instead, so we popped to Matalan for another shirt. I also picked up an outfit.
Pamper Session – Why not?
After that it was time for a pamper session – we both used our Tissue Masks – they are fiddly to put on but are lovely and moisturising. I left mine on for 15-20 minutes.
When I took the tissue off my face, it did feel extremely wet! Once I had massaged it in and my skin felt lovely. You do look horrific when its on though!!!
Next was the nails. Whilst mine went on easily and have lasted for at least 3 days before one started to come loose. And that’s because I had washed up etc at work.
Chloe was trying the 3 minute manicure ones, which are self adhesive. The nails are easy to put on, but Chloe said that they ever felt quite as secure as traditional stick on with glue nails and as a result said she probably wouldn’t try them again. May be I will though!
I think that the mirror effect ones are fantastic. I wanted them as we were attending a special event on the Sunday. Probably would be great for a night out or for something like a wedding.
On the Sunday my god daughter made her confirmation. We had a lovely time with friends, we enjoyed the actual confirmation. Better yet we enjoyed one of the best buffets I have had in ages. After we popped to the pub – would have been rude not too.
As we knew it was going to be a busy day we decided to have a late Sunday lunch at The Newdigate in West Hallam, for after Tom came back. We had a fantastic carvery. It did feel like we had eaten a lot. However, good times with friends and family, are far more important! Love the weekend!
Bye for now
