Summer feels, Easter weekend and general update
Well, long time no speak…..sorry for being AWOL for sooo long……but I thought it was time for an Easter update.
I started the year determined to get a regular blog schedule going, and was actually doing ok, but then my usual self-doubt kicked in. Not sure if it’s hormonal or what, but my mind messes with my mojo every now and then. Social media doesn’t help. I join blog follow trains on Twitter, Instagram etc, follow the rules and follow people and then they follow me. Off I go and like the stuff they post and then I notice my follower count has gone down. Yep, they have unfollowed me!
It could just be that my stuff bores them – I get that. But as my blog isn’t a niche and is a general story of my life, it gets to me and makes me feel like a failure. Anyway, enough – onwards and upwards!
Last weekend we had a lovely and warm Easter weekend – it actually felt like summer was here, but then hey presto its back to being cold and wet again now! My allergies are out of control this year and it doesn’t seem to matter what the weather is like either.
Easter Update – Good Friday
We decided to head out somewhere for a nice walk with Luna. I had a quick google and found Rother Valley Country Park, it is a bit of a drive for us but it was beautiful. It was helped by the fact that it was a gorgeous day!
Things to do at Rother Valley Country Park
It is a country park and whilst you have to pay £5.00 to park you don’t have to spend anything else unless you want to. We did a loop of the lake which is about 5km ish and you can see the watersports if that’s the sort of thing that rocks your boat (bad pun-sorry). Then we watched what I want to call Water Boarding (although I think that is actually a form of torture!!) Basically it’s like waterskiing but on a board. There were a couple of them that were fairly novice, but then an expert who could do flips and all sorts. I got a bit over excited and embarrassed the kids yet again with my mini cheer when he landed what I would think should be called a 360 or something (I am no skateboarding expert but I like to try and pretend!!)
I was a bit disorganised and didn’t prepare a picnic, something I really regretted as the queue from the only cafe was huge. We just bought bottles of water and snacks and decided to find somewhere else to eat. As it was a bank holiday, and a nice day I knew there would be no chance of getting into a beer garden so we stopped at J28 East Midlands Outlet and sat outside the food court.
Other things
I have also been really busy with booking a special holiday for me and Eddie. This year it’s our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We have decided to go away for the first time on our own since the honeymoon. More details will follow and you can be sure that I will blog the hell out of it!!
Fitness update
In my last post, I mentioned starting the 80 Day Obsession Beachbody on demand workouts. I am still keeping on with it. My Facebook group have mostly changed to a new program (there are only 2/3 of us left). The main reason is the length of the workouts and I must admit that is something I struggle with.
That’s another reason I haven’t been able to blog either. I’m “Too Tired To” (obviously!) and there’s just no time once I have finished work, worked out and made dinner.
I am not ready for photo updates but I did earn a cute medal on my Apple Watch.
An update for this weekend will go up separately or this will end up being a monthly post!!
