Quick update
Just a real quick update. I haven’t blogged much recently, mainly because I haven’t done anything worthy of blogging about. Before that, I was too busy to be able to find the time to write a decent post. But I thought I would do a quick post today; it turns out that there is more to update you on than I first thought!
Fundraising night update
In my last post (click here if you missed it) I mentioned that we were having a charity fundraising night in aid of The Ear Foundation (Eddie’s charity for this years London Marathon).
Despite being one of the most stressful things I have ever done, the night was a huge success and raised over £730 for the charity – which is a large chunk towards his target and that is such a relief.
I might do another quick post during the week, with a proper update on the ins and outs of the night and what I have learned from holding the night in case anyone ever googles and finds my page for tips!!
Unfortunately, the night was so busy I didn’t get any pictures, I was running around getting the races on and taking the bets – just no time at all for pictures!
Mothers Day
Got some lovely little pressies for Mothers Day again this year, Chloe did a really thoughtful gift of a makeup bag with supplies inside including a face mask, hair grips, makeup wipes, socks (which I was desperate for) a chocolate bar and a lovely Instax pic of us both.
I also got some flowers and Player Unknown Battlegrounds for the Xbox – love the game but I definitely need more practice!! We didn’t go out for dinner as we had been out to celebrate Eddies birthday, but Eddie cooked a lovely roast dinner at home. Bit of a contrast to last year where we had a lovely walk around Matlock – the weather was cold and miserable so definitely not one where you would want to go out for a nice walk!
Ewans First Rugby Tour

Mothers day weekend coincided with Ewan’s first ever rugby tour – nowhere too glamorous, it was cold wet Bridlington. But Ewan played really well and thoroughly enjoyed it. They did paintball on the way to Bridlington and Go Karting on the way back. So an action-packed weekend – luckily for Ewan it was an inset day on the Monday after!!
The picture is of Ewan getting his tour shirt with his Uncle Kev, who is also one of the coaches.
I can’t post any more of the pics as we agreed not to. But the one of Ewan and his Uncle should be ok!
Easter Weekend
Easter this year was horrible weather wise. I spent most of Good Friday and Saturday on household chores. I hired a rug doctor and cleaned my stairs, living room and bedroom. It was great, I can’t believe the difference in my carpets!
We are hoping to put our house up for sale soon; so we need to make a list of things we need to do to get it ready. We moved our bedroom around and had a sort out of some of the cupboards (which takes ages!)
The house felt a lot cleaner, although my new hoover doesn’t appear to be working well already.
I didn’t get loads of chocolate this year, a bunny off of my parents and a kinder egg from Chloe. But the kids have given me Cream Eggs etc out of theirs so I haven’t missed out!
We had a beautiful dinner and with the leftovers, I made lamp potato and mint pasties on Easter Monday.
Chloe made us a really cute picture of ducks – she is off to university to study Illustration in September. She is already a brilliant artist, I am so proud of her. Check out her Instagram for more of her works of art @artea_fox she is going to be opening an Etsy shop us soon, so I will share the details of that when its ready.
Instagram Challenges
The other thing I am trying to do – not every day, but when I get time, is a handwriting challenge. I am following an Instagram Challenge to improve my handwriting. Over on Instagram, I am posting the handwriting on the days I do it so if you don’t already follow me over there here is my account.
I post over there on days I do not get time to do a full blog post on here. So if you like my random posts check it out and give me a follow.
Bullet Journal Update
You may have noticed that there has been no post about my bullet journal as yet. It turned out I still had quite a lot of space in my Molang Diary, so rather than waste it I have carried on using it (I still love it a lot).
I have started to create April layouts, but I am not that happy with them – I think I was rushing them a little. I will still post pics on at some point and will show you the spreads I am intending to use on a regular basis.
That’s all my news for now. have a good week x
