Healthy Pizza – A guest post by Ewan Buda
My son who is 12 years old has been given a project to do at school. He has had to come up with a healthy recipe and present it in an innovative way. I thought it would be nice for him to takeover and post a page on the website, so here it is……………
Year 8 Spice Design Takeaway Homework Project October 2017
Most people think that fast food has got to be unhealthy, I am going to prove them wrong!
I did an internet search for healthy recipes and decided this one on the Good to Know recipe website looked nice and would be something everyone in my family would eat. I did change it a little bit for ingredients I had at home.

Healthy 15 minute pizza
Quick pizza made in 15 minutes
Ingredients
- 6 Morrisons wholemeal eat smart flatbreads
- 6 tsp Tomato Puree
- 4 Mushrooms Sliced Optional
- 2 Tomatoes, Sliced
- 125g Reduced Fat/Light Mozzerella Cheese
- 2 tsp Dried Mixed Herbs
- Ground Black Pepper
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 190°C /375°F/Gas Mark 5. Slice mushrooms and tomatoes and either tear or slice mozerella

-
Spread the tomato puree onto the flatbreads

-
Top with mushrooms, tomatoes and mozerella. Season with herbs and black pepper

-
Transfer carefully onto a baking tray and bake for approx 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbling

-
Serve with a healthy side salad

The pizzas turned out really well and we would definitely make them again. I would put a bit of ham or chicken on for extra protein next time too.
Overall, I think this proves that you can make a healthy version of junk food at home and in 15 minutes! It was cheap and tasted great!

These look so yummy! Thanks for the great post. I am going to make this for my boys, they are picky, their daddy included…I will trick them to eat this healthy version of pizza.
